With each family that we are privileged to serve, we are committed to a respect of the person that has passed and a dedication to assist the family in planning the funeral arrangements. It is God’s commandment to serve others that compels us to serve you with integrity and compassion.
The Barber Memorial Home, Inc. has been serving families of our community since 1930 when Ivan A. Barber began our funeral home on Broad Street in Johnson City, New York. In 1940 he purchased the present facility, the former home of Harry L. Johnson, of the Endicott-Johnson Corporation from his widow. In 1953 a partnership was formed with his son Robert W. Barber and in 1976 Robert’s son Kenneth W. Barber purchased the business giving the community a third generation dedicated to serving families in their time of need. Ken’s daughter Kyla D. DeBlock has now purchased the business from her father to carry the family name to a fourth generation with the same commitment, to meet our families needs in an affordable, caring way.
