Phyllis Hull Rutherford of Endwell NY and formerly of Metuchen NJ died Tuesday, November 9th 2021 at Good Shepherd Village nursing home at age 92. She was born July 7th, 1929 in Binghamton, NY. She is the daughter of the late Donald Hull and Ethel Hammett. She graduated from Madison High School in Rochester NY as a member of the National Honor Society. She eventually took classes in computer programming and became employed as a programmer at Rutgers University where she worked for over two decades, retiring in late 1999. In her retirement years, she tutored English as a second language and was beloved by her students. She loved reading, going for walks, drawing and taking art classes. She is survived by her sons, Stuart Rutherford of Manville NJ and David Rutherford and his wife, Barbara of East Windsor NJ, grandchildren, Robert Brennan of Bridgewater NJ, Jason Roselius of Philadelphia PA, Katie Ruotolo of Allentown NJ and Carolyn Dean of Kinnelon NJ, brother, Walter Hull of Binghamton NY and sister Jacqueline Hull of Binghamton NY. She is also survived by several cousins and great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 4th at 2:00pm at Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the start of the memorial at the Barber Memorial Home. Burial will be at Riverhurst Cemetery on Monday December 6th at1:00pm.
