80, passed away at Wilson Hospital on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Steffie Kushner. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Minerva; his children Susan Kushner and Al McMullen, Gerald, Jr. and Philomena Kushner, Diane and Brock Collingwood, Karen and Tony Brunoccinni; grandchildren Nicole and Nick Humphrey, Ashley Collingwood, Kiefer Collingwood, Adrienne Irons, Matthew and Jennifer Kushner, Geno Brunoccinni, Sheena Brunoccinni; great grandchildren Jacob, Amelia, baby boy Kushner due in September, Brienna, Natalie, Julie, Paige, Beth, Gavin, Cruz, Isabella, Enzo; sister Elsie Basker; special cousin Kenny and Shiela Antos; several nieces and nephews. Gerald worked as a truck driver for Eber Brothers for 39 years before retirement and working a couple years for UHS. Following true retirement, he and Minerva traveled all over the United States. They saw many wonderful places and made friends everywhere they would go. Gerald could strike up a conversation with anyone! He loved the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or golfing and had a passion for Horse Racing. Gerald was a wonderful storyteller always getting the attention of those around him. Most of all, he was a family man, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed each day. The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU and Emergency Department at Wilson Hospital for their wonderful care. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, at 9:30am, at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Church, 148 Clinton St, Binghamton. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4-7pm, at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gerald's name to any Veteran’s Association of their choice.
