We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Barber Memorial Home, Inc.
On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Brian K. Hawley, son, brother and father of three, passed away. Brian was born on July 29, 1961 in Binghamton, NY. He attended high school and university in Austin, Texas and returned to Binghamton, NY to attend SUNY Binghamton’s bachelors and masters programs in economics. Brian began his career at NYSEG and worked 30 years with the NYSEG family in Binghamton, Rochester, Maine, and Connecticut. Brian raised two daughters, Heather and Tiffany, and his son, Michael, who captured his heart and soul from the day he was born. Brian loved hunting, fishing and being with his family. He took great pride in everything he did and one of his great joys in life was helping his family and friends. He was incredibly generous with his time and love and he enthusiastically shared his successes with others. He was the backbone of the family. He was easy to laugh and, for many, he will be remembered most for his remarkable sense of humor. Brian is survived by his mother, Barbara, siblings, Kevin (Amie), Rick (Caroline), Robert, Kathleen (Patrick), children, Heather (Hugh), Tiffany (Kellen) and Michael (Jessica). He was predeceased by Harold, his father, and Joe Abissi, who was influential in his upbringing and played pivotal role in Brian’s life. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, 10:00am, at St James Church at 147 Main Street, Johnson City. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 4 pm - 7 pm, at Barber Memorial Home at 428 Main St., Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, friends and family can make donations to the Ronald Reagan Re-election Campaign (or a charity of their choosing).
