Chaliscia Lycole Shorts was born in Binghamton, New York on August 28, 1989 to the parentage of the late Mr. Henry and Mrs.Claretha Shorts Sr. She built a career of helping and serving others through the medical and customer service fields, as a long time employee at Spectrum and various nursing positions. Known to so many people and endeared to the hearts of many, Chaliscia’s smile could light up a room, her laughter would leave you full and her sense of humor left a lasting impression on all of those she met. She took great pride in her sense of style whether it be in her home, her own clothes and especially the clothes and care of her children. Chaliscia’s fierce love for her children, family and loved ones will continue to be felt and sorely missed. She was predeceased by her loving parents, her devoted maternal grandparents: Mr.Arthur and Ardell Harris; her dear paternal grandparents: Ms. Susie Woods-Major and Mr. Joe Henry Shorts; and her sister Chaquitha Shorts. Left to mourn her smile and love are Chaliscia’s three beloved children: Jayden Chin, Jaleel Mency and Samyra Mency of Binghamton, NY; her dear sister LaTasha Brisbane of Orlando FL; her adoring brothers: Henry Jr. of Trenton, NJ; Chamell (Jennifer) of Binghamton, NY; Nicholas of Binghamton, NY; and her dear brother, custodian of her children and best friend Chaqueal (Simone) of Binghamton, NY; her cherished nieces all of Binghamton, NY: Sienna, Lamia, Chanelle, Claire and S’Claire and her loved nieces and nephews in Florida: Quentin, Hygenino, Zikerea, Shalene and Laquanta. She also leaves behind her Aunt Bernice (Edward) of Memphis, TN; her uncles: Henry and Roscoe of Binghamton, NY and her dear and loved uncle Bennett of Atlanta, GA; her godmothers: Lynda and Darlene Taylor of Binghamton, NY and her god brother Tisun Taylor also of Binghamton, NY. Chaliscia will also be missed and mourned by a host of cousins, friends and family who were blessed to know, love, and experience her in all of her glory. Chaliscia was the baby of her family and a true daddy’s girl that can never be replaced. Her time with us was a gift, and we thank God that we were able to laugh, love, turn up with and make memories that we can hold onto and forever carry in our hearts! We love you baby girl! A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the Salvation Temple Church 80 Main Street Binghamton at 6pm. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-6pm at the church. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando Fl.
