Cheryl (Corbett) Palmer, 74, formerly of Johnson City, NY, passed away peacefully in Oneida, NY on Saturday, August 28, 2021. She is predeceased by her parents, Laura and James Corbett, and her infant grandson, Jacob Michel. She is survived by her devoted husband of forty years, Joel S. Palmer of Sylvan Beach, NY; children Heather (Todd) Michel of Denver, CO; Jody (James) Harder Jr of Binghamton, NY; Todd (Angela) Palmer of Charlotte, NC; and Kevin (Kate) Palmer of Port Crane, NY; grandchildren Ethan and Paige Michel; Christopher (Amanda) Lippa and Chelsea Lippa; Kendall, Bailey, Shane, and Jaxson Palmer; great-grandchildren Shannon, Aubrey, and Dominic Lippa; brother Michael (Patricia) Corbett of Binghamton, NY; sister Tara (Bill) Hannon of Timberlake, NC; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cheryl was born in Johnson City, NY on September 22, 1946, graduated from Johnson City High School, and lived most of her life in her hometown before moving to live full time in Sylvan Beach in 2019. Cheryl worked at The Binghamton Savings Bank/M&T Bank for over 30 years. She loved her time at the bank and made friendships that lasted a lifetime. She was a member of the Sylvan Beach American Legion Auxiliary, Post 1153. Cheryl was a wonderful wife, loving mother, compassionate sister, and great friend to so many. The family would like to thank Dr. John Perry, MD for his years of care and concern. A Memorial Service will be held at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main St., Johnson City, NY at 11:00am September 9, 2021. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am at the Barber Memorial Home. Burial will be a private ceremony at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family encourages those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their favorite charity in Cheryl’s name.
