Obituary

Edna Daisy Crampton, the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie Northrup of Athens, PA passed away peacefully on January 31, 2022 at the age of 105. She was predeceased by her husband Lester R. Crampton, sons Leroy and Gerald, and grandsons Christopher and Jeremy; brothers Harold and Earl Northrup and in laws Helen Tracy and Harry Crampton. Surviving Edna are her daughter, Mary Ann Cuff (Martin), sons Donald Crampton (Marie) and Alan Crampton (Brenda) Her daughters in law, Linda and Barbara. She loved and was loved by grandsons Michael Cuff, Christopher, Jeremy, Zachary, Lester and John Crampton and step-grandchildren, Michael Disbro, Julie Pasternak and Lisa Disbro. She was cherished and respected by her nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. After graduating from Athens High School she earned her RN from Providence Rhode Island Hospital. Her career led her to work at Ideal Hospital and IBM followed by her enlistment in the Army Nurse Corp serving in Belgium during WWII. She married Lester in 1948 raising her family on Oakdale Road. After Lester’s death she chose to live at Wells Apartments for many happy years. She was a member of long standing of the Beulah Rebekah Lodge as well as Westover United Methodist Church. Mom was a confidant and quiet friend to many. We wish to thank the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home for all of their wonderful care during her time there.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 11th at 1:00pm at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00pm until the time of the service at the Barber Memorial Home.
