A brother in law, three sisters in law, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews also survives her.

Growing up Eva worked on her parent’s local farm in the Newark Valley area and attended Whitney Point Central School. She loved school where she enjoyed learning and became a baton twirler until she had to leave in the 10th grade due to work demands on the family farm.

Eva and Matty married September 1, 1946 and started a dairy farm where they raised their six children.  In 1965, the family farm sold to build Route 81. Eva started a successful at home Avon business while raising her children, and Matty worked for Whitney Point Central School.

Around 1968, Eva joined Shaklee Corporation with her sister, Mary Ann Breatchel. She worked as an Independent Distributor of Shaklee nutritional and biodegradable cleaning products.  Eva became the first Shaklee Distributor east of the Mississippi River and was quite successful in building her business.   She shared her own testimony using the health products and teaching people about nutrition and how to become healthy through nutritional supplementation.  Her husband later joined her fulltime in the business.   They had opportunity to travel nationally and internationally for many years.

The whole family enjoyed music.  Matty and the boys would play their instruments and Eva and the girls would sing along.  They also enjoyed camping together and riding snowmobiles in the winter and extended family get togethers.

Eva attended Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church while growing up. After her marriage she was a long time member of St. Christopher’s Roman Catholic Church and St. Vincent’s Catholic Church. She regularly participated as a lectern in mass, a greeter and sang in the church choir.  She also attended Union Center Christian Church for ten years where she volunteered in the church office answering phones, was church service greeter and attended home group bible studies.
