We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Barber Memorial Home, Inc.
Our beloved Jacob George Citrak, 38, of Binghamton, fell asleep in death on Friday March 19, 2021 due to an unforeseen medical complication. We eagerly look forward to the fulfillment of Jesus' promise at John 5:28 when he will be awakened from the grave and we can hug him tightly once again. Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Virgina Citrak, Albert and Dorothy Finch. He is sorely missed by his parents Robert and Lorriane Citrak, his siblings William Kinney, Jr., Joshua (Susan) Citrak, Carrie (David) Colgan, Candice (Ryan) Merithew; his nephews and nieces Zachary, Isaiah, Olivia and Sophia Colgan, Frances and Dashiell Citrak, Vaughn and Claire Merithew; his uncles William Finch, Richard (Laura) Citrak, and David Citrak; plus many cousins. Jake graduated from Chenango Valley High School and Binghamton University, with Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Philosophy. He worked for many years at Circuit City and then Time Warner Cable, and most recently in the Department of Social Services Family Services Unit. Jake was passionate about his work and he surely made a difference in the lives of the children and families he helped. Jake's loving and kind disposition endeared him to so many friends both near and far. In addition to the lifelong friendships he had formed through school and work, he was an avid gamer who connected with others all around the world. All who knew him feel the loss of his embracing hugs, contagious laugh, and the way his smile lit up a room. Burial was in Center Lisle Cemetery, Lisle, NY. An opportunity to extend condolences to the family will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
