went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home. Jewel was born on November 27, 1935 to the late Arthur and Janet Wood. She was also predeceased by her husband Robert Marsh and granddaughter Erika DeBlock. She is survived by her children Cheri and Jon DeBlock; Don and Melody Marsh; Rob and Ann Marsh; grandchildren Jon and Diana DeBlock, Nicole and Matt Johnson, Ben and Kyla DeBlock, Zachary and Sarah Marsh, Jesse and Jocelyn Marsh, Leah Marsh, Genevieve Marsh and fiancé Nick Traficante, Maria Marsh, Julio Marsh, Cristian Marsh, Zoe Marsh, Zayden Marsh; 19 great grandchildren; brother and sisters Arthur and Renate Wood; Joy and Tom Fewel, Judi and Jim Bowen; several nieces, nephews and special friend Art Drewry. Jewel was a Nursery School Teacher for many years in Ringwood, NJ and was also very involved in her church ministry at the Ringwood Baptist Church like Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. Jewel loved horses and was the secretary for the New Jersey Horse Show Association allowing her and Bob to travel to many different places. After retirement, Jewel and Bob moved to Smith Mountain Lake where they enjoyed their church, friends and the lake life. Some of the best times were the gatherings that would occur with her children and grandchildren at the lake. For the last 10 years, Jewel lived in Johnson City where she has formed many wonderful friendships and was a part of many family gatherings with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She quickly was involved at the First Baptist Church of Johnson City in the Awana program. Throughout her life she loved painting ceramics and attending pottery classes enabling her to acquired many different pieces. The family would like to thank the staff at Hilltop, the James G. Johnston Nursing Home and Lourdes Hospice for their loving and compassionate care given to Jewel. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30am the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 10:00am until the time of the service at the Barber Memorial Home.
