John Monaco 79 of Vestal NY passed away May 3, 2021 after an extended illness. He was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Theresa Monaco and his siblings, our beloved Uncle Vincent (Jimmy) Monaco and Aunt Angela McCarthy. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Patricia Monaco and his four adoring children and their families, Julie & Chris Pasquale, Mary & Andrew McIntyre, Tony & Kelly and Tom & Valerie. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Ella, John, Will, Olivia, Jack, Charlotte & Elise, who adored their Papa. He had a smile that would light up a room, and fantastic sense of humor. His greatest love was for his family, his second was for golf and a stiff Manhattan a close third. He has been a member at Enjoie Golf course for over 50 years where he played golf with his buddies several times a week. The camaraderie went well past the links and enriched his life and his family in many ways. He enjoyed a busy retirement from IBM after 30 some years. Once in those retirement years he often commented about how he ever had time to work. He was happily married for 51 years to the absolute love of his life. Even at the very end, his eyes still twinkled when he looked at her. Their love remains eternal as will his significant impact on his family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 10am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main Street Johnson City.
