John Edmund Jaworski, Sr. “Jaws”, 73, of Baytown, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021, in Baytown, Texas. John was born January 18, 1948 in Johnson City, New York, to parents, Henry and Eloise Miller Jaworski, and has resided in Baytown, Texas for the past six years. He was a graduate of Johnson City High School in New York and Fairfield University in Connecticut. John was a proud United States Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War. John was employed for 15 years at IBM in Endicott, NY and Kingston, NY. In more recent years he was employed at Laerdal Medical in New York as Plant Manager and the Company Safety Officer, while retiring as Plant Operations Manager for Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was President of Tri-Cities Bow Club, Vestal, NY and a member of the Rod Club in Owego, NY. John also enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid bowler, loved to cook and enjoyed all of his projects. He could fix, make and build anything. He was “built FORD Tuff”. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Edmund Jaworski Sr., mother Eloise Ethel Miller Jaworski, sister: Sharon Hoag, and brothers: Eddie, Bruce, and Thomas Jaworski. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia Hall Jaworski, sons, Scott D. Jaworski and John E. Jaworski, Jr., daughter, Lisa M. Jacobs, five granddaughters, Breanna E. Jacobs (Robert J. Friedlander, Jr.), Kyla R. Jacobs, Alexa M. Jacobs, Ciara R. Jacobs and Ileigha M. O’Brien, one great grandson, Robert J. Friedlander III, one sister, Susan Jaworski Shaw (Jim Shaw), two brothers, Henry E. Jaworski, Jr. and Scott H. Jaworski, several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, February 27th at 11:00am at St. James Church, 147 Main St, Johnson City, NY. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 26th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City.
