Joseph Gankiewicz, born on August 28, 1939, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2021.  He was predeceased by his parents Helen and Walter Gankiewicz; sister Mary Mushock; sister Helen Savichky; brothers in law Steve Mushock, Walter Savichky, George Danko; sister in law Euvil Gankiewicz.  He is survived by his brother Edward Gankiewicz and sister Lottie Danko.  Joe was a hard worker and retired from Broome Community College where he worked as a janitor.  He enjoyed fishing spending many days on the river, liked going to church festivals and polka concerts.  Joe was a great accordion player and would occasionally play at the delight of family.  Joe was a fun loving person who brought a smile to anyone he met.  If you knew Joe there is surely a story that comes to mind, he will be missed.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
