Obituary

William (Bill) Malchak, 80, died on Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Mercy House of the Southern Tier after a short battle with cancer surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Andy, Elizabeth, Anna, Edward, George, Michael, Andrew, Stephen, Peter, Joe, Robert, Rose, John; brother in law Gary Hinman. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Laurie Malchak; son and daughter in law Kris and Cathie Malchak; daughter and son in law Mindy and Doug Lawrence; brother and sister in law Richard and Sharon Malchak; sister and brother in law Barbara and Cliff Butler; sister in law and brother in law Candy and Bill Salansky; grandchildren Natasha and Samantha Malchak, Ella and Ava Lawrence; dear friends Dennis and Peg DiOrio; several nieces nephews and cousins.   He was a bartender at Korba's Restaurant where he met his wife. He retired after 40 years of working for D&D Car Sales.  He was a loving husband, father and Pop Pop. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday September 24 at 3pm at the Barber Memorial Home 428 Main Street Johnson City. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 1pm until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 North McKinley Avenue Endicott, NY 13760.
