Kyla Barber DeBlock, graduated from Binghamton University in 2002 with a Business of Science degree. She then started mortuary school in 2010 at the American Academy McAllister Institute. She received her license in 2013 from the State of New York and took over as President in July 2015. She is actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Johnson City, on the Lourdes Auxiliary Board, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the New York State Funeral Directors Association and the Broome County Funeral Directors Association. Kyla lives in Vestal with her husband Ben and their two children. She feels honored to carry on the family business and continue to serve her families in an affordable and caring way.
Kenneth W. Barber, graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA in 1974 with a degree in Business Administration as well as in Music. He then continued his education in mortuary science and received his license from the State of New York in 1976. He took over as President of the funeral home in 1976 and sold to his daughter Kyla in July 2015. He is actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Johnson City, a former deacon on the church, a member of the Board of Trustees of Davis College in Johnson City and has served on the Board of Directors and chairman of Hospice of Lourdes Hospital for almost 15 years. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the New York State Funeral Directors Association as well as the Broome County Funeral Directors Association. Ken lives in Vestal, New York with his wife Cindy and has three married children as well as grandchildren. Ken will continue to serve families in an affordable and caring way as he has done since 1976.
Timothy J. Maus, graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in Mortuary Science and has worked at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. since his graduation some 25 years ago. He is a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church of Johnson City where he is active in many parish activities. He lives in Endwell with his wife Kim and has two children.
